FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO RECEIVE MY IMAGES?
Your proof gallery is posted 2 weeks after your session, and your finished image files are delivered 2 weeks after that (so the total turnaround time is 4 weeks). And can take longer, during busy times. The photographer will update you regarding that.
CAN I KEEP THE IMAGES FROM MY SESSION PRIVATE?
All clients sign an optional model release before the session. If you would prefer to keep your images private, you may indicate your request at that time. For clients who choose to decline the model release, I absolutely respect your decision and will keep your images under lock and key.
DO YOU PROVIDE RAW FILES?
Sorry, we do not provide raw files. This is our Company Policy and under no terms we provide raw files. We only provide edited high resolution digital files to the clients. Raw files are Unfinished Images. RAW files are unedited and therefore are not an accurate representation of our work or our brand. It is vital that we deliver only our very best work. Clients hire us based on your portfolio: Our finished work. Editing our images is part of that process, and is a major factor in the process of creating a final image. While we protect our brand and we won’t deliver a half-finished product. EDITING is part of the service, we provide to ensure clients are fully happy with their final images.
WHAT IS THE SIZE OF THE DIGITAL FILES?
High resolution files are in MB which is perfect for printing purpose.
And low resolution files in KB and is recommended only for internet or social media sharing.
DO YOU KEEP OUR BACKUPS?
Please note we do not keep backups of your digital files.
WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?
I live in San Diego, 92128.
WHERE DOES THE SESSION TAKE PLACE? DO YOU HAVE A STUDIO?
Newborn and baby sessions almost always take place at my in-home studio because it’s a comfortable and natural environment. Maternity sessions can also be photographed at home, or it’s nice to head outside and use San Diego as your background! Weather permitting!!!
I SAW THESE CUTE PICTURES ON PINTEREST. CAN WE DO THOSE?
I love Pinterest as much as the next girl! But Pinterest is best used as an initial source of inspiration, rather than a strict guideline for your photographer. If we’re focused on recreating someone else’s photos, that will leave us less time to create shots that showcase the unique aspects of your family. If you do want to use Pinterest to help you plan your session, look at it as general inspiration — for instance, use it to figure out what style of photos you like, and then search for a photographer whose images match that style.
WHAT IF MY BABY IS FUSSY?
Please don’t worry! It’s completely normal for baby to become fussy at least once during the session, and we can take as many breaks as we need. I have all the patience in the world, and I happen to think babies are cute no matter what mood they’re in!
DO YOU OFFER A “BABY’S FIRST YEAR” PACKAGE?
Yes I do! Please inquire for more details.
I ONLY NEED A FEW IMAGES. DO YOU OFFER MINI-SESSIONS?
I believe that photography should not be a rushed experience — I want you to truly enjoy our time together and leave with some amazing memories. The difference in expressions between the beginning and end of the session is truly remarkable. I find that when parents and babies have time to settle into the session and get used to the camera and me, we’re able to create more authentic portraits. For these reasons, I don’t offer mini-sessions.However, I do offer special events from time to time, and the best way to find out about those is LIKE OUR FACEBOOK PAGE.
WHAT’S THE BEST AGE FOR NEWBORN PHOTOS?
For those curly, sleepy newborn shots, I highly recommend scheduling between 5-18 days old. However, I know that life happens and this isn’t always possible! We can still create beautiful newborn images after 3-4 weeks; it just takes a little more time and can be hard sometimes.
HOW SOON SHOULD I BOOK MY SESSION?
Ideally, I recommend reaching out when you are 6-7 months pregnant so that we can book your due date and plan your session when you still have some time on your hands. However, if you’ve already had your baby, you’re not too late! I will always make time for newborns whenever possible — please reach out!
HOW DO WE SCHEDULE SINCE WE DON’T KNOW WHEN BABY WILL ARRIVE?
I pencil in the due date on my calendar, and then I ask parents to email or text me within 3 days of the baby’s birth so that we can schedule your actual session time. I only book a few newborns a month so that I can be really flexible with scheduling.
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO HAVE MATERNITY PHOTOS TAKEN?
I generally recommend booking between 30-34 weeks so that your bump is nice and full, but you still feel comfortable and not too tired.
